Champittet Boarding Ball: Students dance the night away at the Beau-Rivage Palace

At Collège Champittet, our boarding students form a close-knit community throughout the year, brought together by activities like weekend excursions and overseas trips. The annual Boarding Ball is another one of these memorable bonding experiences, and one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the calendar.

This year, we hosted our Boarding Ball at the iconic Beau-Rivage Palace. This gorgeous Belle Époque hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva provided an elegant setting for our springtime Ball – and our boarding students certainly dressed for the occasion!

The evening kicked off with mingling over an apéro, followed by a sumptuous sit-down dinner, delicious dessert, and plenty of dancing. From heartfelt speeches to comic awards and even the music, our boarding house spirit made this a night to remember.

During the Ball, our boarding team dedicated a speech to our magnificent boarding house community. It’s not easy to put into words the deep friendships and life-changing experiences shared by our boarders, but this is precisely what brings our community closer together. 

Of course, camaraderie and laughter are also inseparable from boarding life – and what better way to celebrate this than with some comic prizes? Our boarding students paid tribute to their sense of humour and to each other by awarding their peers with distinguishments like “Spends more hours in the office than in their room”, “Ride or die besties” and “Master of counterarguments”. Meanwhile, our student athletes received a genuine shout-out with our football team awards.

A music playlist curated by our boarders provided the evening’s soundtrack, adding a special touch throughout the evening with songs that capture shared memories. The Ball was not only a well-deserved break for our hardworking students, but a perfect moment for cherishing friendships, looking back on joyous times and looking forward to a future of possibilities!
