College Counseling at The Village School

James Beeks brings over a decade of experience in education, including serving as an Admissions Counselor for The University of Texas at Austin. He has developed academic honor programs, guided students through the selective admissions process, and built partnerships that expand opportunities for learners.

Teri Brownson is a College Counselor at The Village School. She joined Village in 2019. Before that, she worked in college counseling in public schools. Teri earned her Master In Education (MEd.) degree from the University of North Texas.

Alison Murray is a College Counselor at The Village School . She joined Village in 2024. Before that, she served for 10 years in college access equalizing postsecondary opportunities for students across the city of Houston. Alison has a Bachelor's of Science degree from University of Houston. 

Jill Williams is a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and instructional leadership. She has supported students in gaining acceptance to top colleges and securing meaningful scholarship opportunities, helping them reach their academic and career goals with confidence. Jill holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&M University, along with multiple certifications including Principal and Secondary Social Studies. She is bring expertise and commitment to student success to The Village School as a High School College Counselor.
