NAIS Pudong Scholarships
This week, our students delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking assembly, showcasing their confidence and maturity in presenting two crucial global themes: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
With clarity and enthusiasm, the students shared concise and relatable messages about each of the SDGs, helping the audience understand how these goals aim to create a better future for everyone. Their posters were vibrant and informative, capturing the attention of their peers and teachers alike.
The assembly also featured engaging skits that brought the UNCRC to life, highlighting what it means for children to have rights—like the right to be heard, to learn, and to play. Through a thoughtful balance of humour and seriousness, the skits explored examples of rights being respected and moments where rights might be misunderstood. The audience responded with laughter at the light-hearted moments and deep reflection during the more serious ones, showing they truly understood the importance of these issues.
The assembly was a testament to how deeply our students care about the world around them and their ability to communicate that care in a way that inspires others. Well done to everyone involved!
Last week, as part of the Living Legacies series, our school had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Chen, an associate professor of economics and parent of an eighth-grade student, to speak to our Grade 10–12 students. In her lecture, Ms. Chen explored the causes and effects of the U.S.–China tariff dispute, blending professional insight with personal experience to bring the topic to life.
