Our catering team, led by the talented Head Chef Mr Kevin Cao, has been an integral part of our school community for seventeen years. Since joining BSB Shunyi in 2008, Kevin has brought his passion for culinary arts and his commitment to creating delicious, nutritious meals for our students and staff.
Kevin fondly recalls the excitement of watching the Olympics in Beijing and the thrill of joining the BSB Shunyi team shortly thereafter. His journey with us has been marked by creativity, dedication, and a genuine love for his craft. "I love welcoming students and parents to suggest dishes to me, and I often create new offerings using the ideas that come from these conversations," Kevin shares. This collaborative approach ensures that our menu is constantly evolving to meet the diverse tastes and preferences of our community.

Many members of our catering team have been with us as long as Kevin, forming a close-knit group that works tirelessly to provide high-quality meals every day. Their longevity and commitment are a testament to the positive and supportive environment at BSB Shunyi. Despite the team's long-standing presence, our menu is anything but static. Kevin's creativity shines through as he introduces ten new dishes each month, including a variety of international options that broaden our shared culinary horizons.
March is an exciting month at BSB Shunyi, as we feature a special focus on African cuisine. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to celebrate global cultures and introduce our students to new and exciting flavours during our International Lunch Day every Wednesday. Kevin's expertise and enthusiasm for international cuisine ensure that our African food special will be a memorable and delicious experience for everyone.

The British School of Beijing recently hosted BritMUN 2025, a Model United Nations (MUN) event that highlights the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of our students. This year's conference was a remarkable success, attracting student delegates from many different schools across Beijing, including the British School of Beijing, the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College Beijing, and Beijing World Youth Academy.
