Between Friday 5th May to Sunday 7th May, the Year 12 Duke of Edinburgh Silver International Award student group did their three day / two nights Practice Exploration Adventure Journey. The theme of their trip was how the area being explored has changed over time, especially in regard to the impact of tourism on areas of Beijing city and the Beijing province. They chose to visit the 798 Art District, the Dashilar and Nanluoguxian hutongs and a village in the Jiankou Great Wall area.
After researching about each area, the students visited the locations to observe and record the positive and negative changes and impacts of tourism, in terms of social, economic and environmental aspects. The group also interviewed several people, who were most helpful in their answers.
The Practice trip will help prepare the students for their Qualifying Exploration that will take place in Term One of 2023 – 2024 academic school year. A big thank you to Mr John Zheng and Mrs Selina Tao for helping run the trip.

The British School of Beijing recently hosted BritMUN 2025, a Model United Nations (MUN) event that highlights the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of our students. This year's conference was a remarkable success, attracting student delegates from many different schools across Beijing, including the British School of Beijing, the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College Beijing, and Beijing World Youth Academy.
