We are excited to update our learning robotics programme with new EV3 LEGO robots. EV3 robots are known for growing students' critical thinking and creativity in Computer Science, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Students can design, build, revise, improve and test their models, and learn how to programme from easy sequences to complex algorithms using programming building blocks or Python programming language. These programmes come with EV3 sets.
At our current phase, we use EV3 for after school programmes (ASA). The greatest challenge we face is getting students to leave the ASA room! The plan is to develop robotic curriculum in Primary Computing in the coming months. EV3s are also the ideal resource to provide students with the opportunity to enter interschools robotics competitions, which is something we are looking forward to in the future.

With ever evolving challenges posed by online safety issues, we constantly update our Digital Literacy units to address new and emerging safety concerns. We will continue to rely on your support in purchasing and updating different learning apps in the reminder of the year to always ensure seamless learning and digital safety of our children. A list of required apps for each year group from Year 3 can be found Setting up for Non-Apple Users. Click here for details about our Primary 1:1 iPad Programme (Year 3-6).

The British School of Beijing, Shunyi Campus offers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is renowned for its active learning approach. This method is integral to early childhood education, providing young learners with a solid foundation for their future academic and personal development. At BSB Shunyi, active learning means children learn by doing — through a thoughtful blend of teacher-guided activities and independent exploration that develops both their academic skills and their love of learning.
The British School of Beijing recently hosted BritMUN 2025, a Model United Nations (MUN) event that highlights the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of our students. This year's conference was a remarkable success, attracting student delegates from many different schools across Beijing, including the British School of Beijing, the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College Beijing, and Beijing World Youth Academy.
