The 2024 DVAC (Danube Valley Athletic Conference) Season 1 was a challenging and exciting journey for the BISB Wolves, who showcased remarkable determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season. 

Last week, the Year 13 chemists spent a day collecting experimental data for their Internal Assessments. They had already researched a topic of interest, devised what they data would need to collect, and planned the method.

The House team of BISB would like to notify you about a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a Holiday Present Drive, which gives used toys, books in mint or great condition and sweets to Hungarian Romani children between the ages of 0 and 12 who come from very low-income households, and otherwise wouldn’t receive presents for Christmas.

This half-term in English, Year 8 are working on writing and designing their own magazines. They have studied the language, structure, layout and presentation conventions of a range of article types and are now putting their learning into action in their own creations.

This week's Primary parent academy was aimed at parents of children in years 1 and 2. During the session, parents were introduced the Year 1 and Year 2 primary maths hub websites, something that was rolled out successfully in Years 3-6 last academic year. 

From 18 to 22 November, the halls of BISB were alive with the spirit of World Children’s Day (WCD). This annual celebration, held on November 20, highlights the importance of children’s rights and wellbeing around the world. 

The BISB CanSat team has successfully completed and submitted the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), a critical milestone in the development of their miniature satellite. The PDR signifies the team’s readiness to move forward with the detailed design and construction phases of their project.

On Tuesday 12th November, our Year 11 IGCSE Performing Arts students provided an evening of performances.

At BISB, we recently hosted our Year 13 CAS Project Exhibition from October 28th to 31st. 

World Children’s Day is UNICEF’s annual day of action for children, by children. 

Last Friday, 8th November, a choir group of 11 school students from Georgia visited BISB to perform for our Year 5 & 6 children. The Georgian Ambassador also attended this event. 

We were thrilled to have our Parents in for Pop in! 

On November 11th, we will once again celebrate St. Martin's Day, a tradition at our school that has been accompanied for years by a special menu featuring dishes made from goose and duck. 

Last week the Primary school celebrated Maths week with the theme - Maths Affirmations! As part of this, the children have been partaking in a variety of activities that gets them talking and singing about what they know in Maths.
