The newly installed solar system is expected to reduce nearly 19 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, which is the equivalent of planting around 900 mature trees annually. While this is a fantastic contribution to our environmental efforts, the true value lies in how it will support our students’ learning. Through real-life application, our students will be able to explore how solar energy works, understand the importance of clean energy, and reflect on the role they can play in building a more sustainable world.
This donation is part of CoCo Solar’s 2025 community programme, which aims to bring clean energy into schools across Vietnam. For us at BIS Hanoi, it strengthens our commitment to embedding environmental responsibility and global citizenship into our curriculum and everyday school life.
The project was made possible thanks to a collaboration with two global leaders in clean energy technology: JA Solar, known for their high-performance solar panels used in over 130 countries and Huawei, the world’s leading manufacturer of smart solar inverters.
With CoCo Solar overseeing the installation, this partnership brings together innovative technology, high-quality engineering and a shared vision for sustainable development.
Our student prefect from Sustainability department shared their thoughts on the project with great enthusiasm, “This initiative supports several of the global goals. By using renewable energy, we’re helping reduce air pollution and our reliance on fossil fuels. It’s a step towards shifting from non-renewable to renewable energy sources, and it also encourages our school community to become more environmentally conscious and to raise awareness about global environmental issues.”
We're incredibly grateful to CoCo Solar, along with Huawei and JA Solar, for making this project a reality. Thanks to their support, we’re not just powering our school with renewable energy, we’re also inspiring our students to lead the way towards a more sustainable future.
