Year 4 put their scientific skills to the test as they investigated which popular drinks cause most damage to tooth enamel.
Using eggs instead of teeth (the eggshell is similar to tooth enamel), Year 4 planned, made predictions, set up and concluded their investigation. Each day for a week, they made careful observations of any changes to the enamel, thinking about the colour and texture, and seeing if any cracks had appeared.
At the end of the week, as they concluded their investigation, the children were shocked to discover that it wasn’t the drink with the most sugar. “I can’t believe it’s the orange juice! My prediction was wrong!” one child exclaimed. What all groups learnt, is that the acid in the orange juice was more damaging than the sugar.

Our young adventurers in Year 3 took on two days full of fun, laughter, learning, and a touch of bravery on their Residential Trip this week. They returned with stories, smiles, and some seriously impressive new skills.
