Preparations for Christmas began early in Reception as we started to practise for our Christmas Performance. All the children have worked very hard to learn the song lyrics and actions.
However, this did not overshadow their excitement when presented with a Christmas tree to decorate. Sharks set about making decorations using all the resources available and added a star to the top. It was drawn, coloured and cut out by one of our own and was the perfect tree-topper.
We are always thinking of ways to inspire mark making independently. On our mark making table Ms Barry challenged Sharks to draw Santa’s house. They not only rose to the challenge but even drew him castles to live in and elves to help him prepare for Christmas.
The most exciting event in Shark’s class was creating Santa’s sleigh from a cardboard box. I was so impressed with how they taped up the sleigh and painted it collaboratively. It has been one of the most used role-play areas over the last week. I am guessing it is going to be full of presents ready to be delivered very soon.

Our Year 1 and 2 students shone bright at this year’s KS1 Sports Day, showing off their team spirit, determination, and impressive sporting skills! From running and jumping to throwing and space hopping – they did it all with enthusiasm and heart.
Our young adventurers in Year 3 took on two days full of fun, laughter, learning, and a touch of bravery on their Residential Trip this week. They returned with stories, smiles, and some seriously impressive new skills.
