Pelicans have been studying angles and shapes in their Maths geometry lessons over the past week.
They completed an activity on the playground in which they worked in pairs in which one of them was blindfolded to guide each other around by stating directions and turns in degrees. This activity helped the pupils to develop their spatial awareness, as well as their ability to use mathematical language and concepts such as angles and 3D shapes. It also encouraged them to communicate effectively with each other, using clear and accurate language to give and follow directions.
By incorporating physical movement and tactile sensations into the activity, the pupils were able to engage with the material in a more active and sensory way, which can help them to remember and apply the concepts more effectively in the future. Overall, this was a fun and engaging way to explore geometry and spatial concepts, while promoting teamwork and communication skills.
