Year 5 students have been designing their own animal themed mechanisms that have moving parts.
As part of their Science lessons with Mr O’Leary, the students in Year 5 were finally able to create their own lever animals. This process had started during Virtual School on Seesaw. Back then, the students planned their designs and calculated measurements, based on their existing knowledge of lever machines. This was great use of their connection finding skills.
Once they arrived back at school, the students were able bring their ideas to life. They used coloured card, split pins and their own creativity to make animals with moving body parts. There was a lot of imaginative thinking on display, as they produced a variety of inventive contraptions.
