This week, Year 4 has been researching Rainforests as part of the geography segment of Topic.
Our budding researchers have been hard at work comparing and contrasting different woodland around the world. Notably, Sherwood Forest and the Amazon Rainforest. Students have been developing their collaborative learning skills while working in groups to analyse the forests.
‘What are those funny lines on the map?’ some might say. ‘They are the Prime Meridian line, The Equator, The Tropic of Cancer and The Tropic of Capricorn’ say Year 4. Pinpointing where the world’s rainforests are form a key part of this research activity. Learning about our world allows students to be environmentally aware.
Students have been learning to use technology for their research. Using iPads, laptops, atlases, and maps has allowed the students to build comprehensive fact files about the Rainforest and importantly, the importance of it to our world.
Overall, over the last week, students have been able to dive into learning about our world and the impact that we have on it.

Our Year 1 and 2 students shone bright at this year’s KS1 Sports Day, showing off their team spirit, determination, and impressive sporting skills! From running and jumping to throwing and space hopping – they did it all with enthusiasm and heart.
Our young adventurers in Year 3 took on two days full of fun, laughter, learning, and a touch of bravery on their Residential Trip this week. They returned with stories, smiles, and some seriously impressive new skills.
