The ocean-centred topics continue this week for Reception, focusing on the story Commotion in the Ocean. They have loved learning all about sea animals, their sounds and movements and even getting the chance to create their own sea animals!
The children of Reception engaged in activities which deepened their understanding of sea creatures and their sounds, movements, and bodies. They had hands-on experience and fun while moving like the sea creatures, creating their own sea animals, and imitating sounds of various sea creatures. The children also developed an awareness on the importance of protecting the ocean and various ways to ensure the safety of the creatures of the ocean.
Through a combination of fun and learning they discovered 2D shapes and manipulated these shapes to create tangrams of sea animals.
