What is new on our menu – home-made pizza
It is not the first time we have had homemade pizza on our menu, as it is a favorite with the students, but this is the first time we have had it on our menu because it has been made entirely in-house. We do not use a frozen pizza base; our chefs knead the dough.
Although pizza is high in energy and calories, it can be included in a balanced diet, although less frequently. Healthy eating is not about bans; it is about frequency and quantity.
Our school always offers a fresh mixed green salad with pizza to make the daily menu more balanced. Again, the role of vegetables is essential here because of their fibre content. The fibre in them fills you up, so you will be able to eat proportionally less of the pizza. In addition, the fibre we eat with vegetables also binds some excess cholesterol and eliminates it from our bodies.
Yet, the true delight lies in crafting pizza at home, especially with your little ones. It is a delightful family activity that not only brings you closer but also fosters healthy eating. You can adorn it with an array of vegetables, low-fat cheese, lean ham, or even seafood. Let your children create a face for the pizza using their favorite vegetables. Engage them in the process of selecting the toppings and preparing the pizza. This way, they will be much more likely to relish the vegetables, and of course, the pizza.
When it comes to pizza, it is not just about the toppings. The dough is a canvas for your creativity and health-conscious choices. You have the power to make it by substituting some of the white flour with whole meal flour, or even opting for cauliflower flour for a truly low-carb version. So, if you are open to it, there are numerous exciting ways to create pizza that cater to your taste and dietary preferences.
But of course, if you are in Italy, you should always take advantage of a slice of fantastic Italian pizza, as you can cut down on the calories you eat while you are out sightseeing.
Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of participating in the Nord Anglia Snowsport Expedition in the breathtaking region of Villars-sur-Ollon, in the Swiss Alps. This was the very first year our school organised an expedition like this, so it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.
Our Year 2 school trip to the Children's Railway this week was a great experience. We started our journey at Hűvösvölgy and made our way up to Széchenyi-hegy.
