Setting off on Thursday (March 7th), Year 12 IB Geography students spent three days in Ba Vi National Park.
This field trip is the students’ opportunity to collect primary data to help inform the Internal Assessment component of their Geography course.
The students visited 14 sites along the Suối Bơn river to measure a range of variables such as width, depth, velocity and sediment load. The students will use these data to ascertain if their hypotheses about how the variables would change ring true. Students used the famous Bradshaw Model to help craft these hypotheses.
We were blessed with dry weather and the students were a credit to the school – they worked hard in sometimes difficult terrain, always kept positive and demonstrated that effective teamwork is one of the best skills they will learn. Students will now return to school and begin writing up their projects.
