Admissions are now open for 2025/2026
Primary students in Year 4 and Year 5 were introduced to Drama lessons at the beginning of September. These exciting and creative workshop lessons have been taught by Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Puchalski who are the schools Drama teacher specialists.
Year 4 have had great fun exploring the story of ‘One and Only Ivan’ through a series of specialist Drama lessons looking at how key Drama skills and techniques such as facial expression, movement, voice and still images can create characters from the book and bring a story to life. The students are utilising these skills learnt so that they can rehearse and perform the story of the ‘One and Only Ivan’ at the end of the term, which should prove to be a brilliant showcase of theatrical talents!
Year 5 are having a six-week intensive Drama experience too with Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Puchalski whereby they have been exploring the attributes and skills of Theatrical Clowning. The Juilliard scheme of lessons have been a fantastic opportunity for both students, and their class teachers, to be extremely creative and to really think ‘outside of the box’ when it come to using mime, expression of the body and the use of props. Brilliant collaboration and communication have been evident throughout the Drama lessons as the students created their own Theatrical Clowning sequences which were performed and videoed for parents!

This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
