Admissions are now open for 2025/2026
This is certainly the strangest of endings to our 2019/20 academic year, no more so than for our graduating students, who not only had their IB Diploma Programme abruptly cut short with the cancellation of examinations, but are now dispersing around the world without having had the opportunity to gather together a final time as a group.
This is especially sad when we consider that some of this year’s Graduating class have been at BIS Abu Dhabi for 10 years. For this reason, it is vital that we mark the occasion of their Graduation, even if this has to be done remotely. As teachers, students and parents, we would have much preferred to celebrate this important occasion together and say our goodbyes in person; however, I hope that what we have created will prove a fitting tribute to and celebration of our Class of 2020.
On Wednesday, 3rd June, students will be able to come to school briefly to collect a package containing their certificates and awards along with some small gifts and keepsakes from the school. The Graduation video will go live at 6pm through a Facebook Premiere link. We hope that all those who tune in will add to the experience by posting photos and sending in messages throughout the ceremony.
We hope that as a community you will support this extraordinary group of young people as we congratulate them on their hard work and commitment and celebrate all that they have achieved over the last two years.
In order to be able to watch the Graduation Ceremony, please like and follow the school’s Facebook page, and help us say goodbye to the Graduating Class of 2020 by clicking on the following link at 6pm on Wednesday, 3rd June: click here

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to its campus on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Her Highness, President & CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and The Climate Tribe, is a distinguished entrepreneur, thought leader, and researcher with a deep commitment to sustainability, climate change, and gender equity.
At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
